Summer week 3

We added something new to our summer this year.  The boys participated in basketball camp, which was put on by the high school basketball coach and some of the team. They had a lot of fun, and by the end of the week, we had to raise our adjustable hoop up four notches!  We also went bowling through the kidsbowlfree.com program.  This year I bought the family pass and Bryan and I both bought bowling shoes! My first game was 67 and my last game was 142!  We'll see if I can improve on that! It was the Fouth of July weekend, which we always spend with Bryan's family Up North.  The kids swam in their pool, played football, and had another water balloon fight.  We also had a beach day.

Summer week 2

The second week of summer the kids went to VBS and it was a lot of fun!  The picture was taken on crazy hair day.  We tie-dyed shirts. We had a water balloon fight.  We also went to one of our favorite parks along the river. And Lydia won the limbo rollerskating! That weekend was our annual family reunion at Okoboji.

Summer week 1

I love love love summer.  I chose my profession in part because I wanted to have summers off with my future kids and now it is paying off.  But the first week of summer, we had to knock something big off my to-do list.  We cleaned out the basement and had a garage sale.  We passed my goal of getting rid of 2000 items this year!  A lot of stuff didn't sell, but I resisted the temptation to bring it back into the house and donated all of it.  The kids had a very profitable concession stand.

It was a lot of work, but it feels good to have it done!
