Reggie is 5! And, boy, is he excited about it! Everywhere
we go, everyone he talks to, he says, “I’m five!” He keeps telling Lydia that he is the same age as her. She doesn’t like that very much and argues
that she is the oldest. Reggie is affectionate, friendly, energetic, and oh-so-handsome. His need for adventure will be keeping us on our toes for years to come. We love our Reckit Reggie!

let's play ball
All three kids' first experience with a team sport came this spring with our city t-ball league. A great benefit to having a buncha kids about the same age is they all played on the same team. The kids worked hard, had fun, and all three were better at t-ball at the end of the season! In the last game, the coach pitched and they all hit the ball.
Some important things to know about t-ball:
1. There are no outs, no score, no winning, no losing.
4. Players are permitted to leave the field at any time to visit the porta-potty.
5. The game ends after one hour.
6. Be a good sport. No talking smack.
7. Snacks and beverages are provided by parents after each game.
8. Everyone gets a trophy.

funtastic June
June had many highlights including our annual family reunion to Okoboji and my annual road trip to central South Dakota to visit my grandpa. We also had my parents come and stay on our driveway in their RV for a few days. In total, we spent 14 days with my parents, who recently became semi-retired and sold their home. While at our house, the kids wanted to know when Grandpa and Grandma were going home. We told them, they were home-they live in our driveway! Home is where the RV is!
We finally made it to our favorite beach and camped over Father's Day weekend.
Due to threats of severe weather, we camped in the living room Saturday night.
We spent a day at the Children's Museum. They have a temporary "workshop" exhibit. I was shocked at how long the kids hammered nails!
On to Okoboji with a fun-filled weekend with cousins! My grandparents celebrated their 69th anniversary while we were there!
We had 2 kids venture down the slide and Reggie and Lydia did go-carts for the first time.
Back home, I took the kids to the MN Zoo. I took my friends' kids too, since she just had a baby. So it was me and five 4-6 year-olds! Did I mention we also bought a minivan in June?
We ended our June adventures with a road trip out to central SD to visit my grandpa. He recently lost his second wife, and my parents are spending much of the summer there. Grandpa is 91 and young at heart. The kids even got him to play t-ball with them! On the farm, we found a lot of caterpillars.
The corn is looking good this year with lots of rain.
I enjoyed this slide when I was my kids' age!
We spent a perfect day at the beach.
But the kids have been talking about the "boogie" ride since last summer, and they finally got their chance the last day!
Me too!
