Summer week 1

I love love love summer.  I chose my profession in part because I wanted to have summers off with my future kids and now it is paying off.  But the first week of summer, we had to knock something big off my to-do list.  We cleaned out the basement and had a garage sale.  We passed my goal of getting rid of 2000 items this year!  A lot of stuff didn't sell, but I resisted the temptation to bring it back into the house and donated all of it.  The kids had a very profitable concession stand.

It was a lot of work, but it feels good to have it done!

Last day of school!

spring break part 3

Our third adventure was Disneyland.  Disneyland was magical, stunning, and overwhelmingly crowded.  But the crowds bothered the parents far more than the kids, and it will be hard to top this day for them.
We went on some iconic rides - Dumbo, Tea Cups, and its a small world. Peter Pan's Flight and - the kids' favorite - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

And met some fun characters.

(Did not) get the iconic family picture in front of the castle I had hoped for.
Princess Lydia got the royal treatment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

The 2 parades and fireworks were spactacular!

We went to a nice dinner in Downtown Disney.  It was a very long hot day, but the kids are still talking about it nearly every day.  The things we do for our kids!  The kids and I flew home the next morning.  Bryan had a few work meetings and came home a day later.
