may

May was not really a month for the history books - 4 of the 5 of us were sick the whole month.  It was filled with fevers, canceled plans and doctor visits.  Brett seemed to get hit the worst.  He took his first trip to urgent care and got his first x-ray.  Pneumonia was the culprit.  I love being a mom, but I could do without the having sick kids part.

Despite our coughs and runny noses, the weather has been delightful.  On Mother's Day, the kids "helped" me plant our garden. (The kids got me a basket full of bath goodies and Bryan has a renewed appreciation for me running errands with the kids ; ) ). We took a trip to the zoo and the children's museum.  Bryan and I celebrated our 9th anniversary, and over Memorial Day, we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at the park.
We had the best eye appointment ever this month!  Brett's vision has not changed and he participated in the exam well enough to not need a follow-up exam under anesthesia!  My shining moment was I managed to order Brett the exact same frames with the exact same prescription.
Lydia finished up her dance class, and from what she tells us, her dance career.  She did well, but doesn't seem to have an interest in pursuing it any further.  That makes our bank account happy!  I'm sure she will find another avenue to make us proud - and spend our money...
Reggie is TWO like no other.  His energy, emotions, and free spirit cannot be contained.  Defiance. Remorse. Repeat. He is a quick learner, fearless, and has loads of spark.  If we can channel it, I'm sure God is going to use his gifts to do something amazing. It exhausts me and I love it.

  2. What a busy month! Sorry about that awful sickness! Despite it, sounds like a wonderful month! You are one amazing mom. I am pretty sure Jackson is much like Reggie - I loved how you described him. Perfect.
