holiday highlights

Our holidays were full of all of our favorite things - family, food, football, and fun.  And a few more that don't start with "f" - cold, celebrating the Christ-child, culture, and cuddling on the couch.

Wedan family Christmas was the Saturday before Christmas at our house.  It was the first time we were all together since last Christmas! The cousins had a lot of fun together.  Papa and MeeMaw stayed through Christmas morning.  We ice skated on the pond, went to the Christmas Eve service, Papa read The Cheesehead Night Before Christmas, ate Santa pancakes...oh...and Santa made a stop at our house!

After a couple days of left-overs, naps, and movie-watching, we went to Iowa to see my brother and his family.  The cousins had a lot of fun together!! We went to a waterpark and played lots of games. It was -22 degrees when set off to return home on New Years Eve.

New Years Day was the last day of Kwanzaa, so we made a soul-food feast: fried chicken, jojos, collard greens, biscuits, peanut soup, iced tea, and sweet potato pie!
