Minnesotans love summer because so much of our year is winter! We spend as much time as possible soaking up the warm sunny days outdoors. During this second covid summer, there was even more reason to take advantage of our time outdoors as we learned more about how the virus spread. With Reggie ineligible for vaccination until the end of the summer, we tried to leverage the outdoor benefits as much as possible.
We also returned to some of the activities we missed so much over the past year. The biggest one was in-person church - which was online for 14 months. Brett and Lydia joined the youth group. We got to do the Kids Bowl Free program. And water parks were open this summer! Lydia and I went to an outdoor play, and just for the fun of it, we had "Thanksgiving in August" on our deck.
