blunder

After a brief introduction to Brett, Lydia, and myself, an otherwise polite lady asked me,

"Is she yours?"

I choked on my words, and she was quick to realize her blunder. Glad my son is too young to understand and anxious about the day he does, I responded, "Lydia is my biological child."
